Lab: ServoMotor Control with Arduino

Writer: Alexis SandersAlexis Sanders

This lab and the tone lab were probably two of the most frustrating labs that we have had simply because I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I initially thought there was something wrong with the wiring because I wasn't sure how the wires of the Servomotor worked so I had to look up the specs to double check, but that didn't fix the problem. I then thought it might be a problem with the code since I couldn't get the code to work even though I copied it right from the lab. I tried this code with the force sensor and the potentiometer since I got the first lab to work using the potentiometer, but it still didn't work.

However once you mentioned in class that the Servomotors might not work with our Arduino's, I felt a sense of relief that I wasn't doing anything wrong. I probably spent over an hour trying to figure out why my code wasn't working, but I couldn't figure out the problem. I do want to try again when I have alligator clips for the force sensor because I think that will help immensely.

This lab did get me thinking about all the different sensors and outputs that I could experiment with since I was trying to use different sensors for the motor. I starting wondering and doing some research on different sensors and how I could use them with my Arduino or even for a bigger project.
